Button Celebrates F1 Title Alone, in Hotel Room

Although offered the possibility – from his Brazilian teammate Rubens Barrichello – to stay in Brazil and party all night long the clinching of his maiden world title in Formula One, it seems all Jenson Button wanted to do for the Sunday night was to have some time alone with himself.

As reported by several media in Sao Paolo, it seems the 29-year old Brit barely stayed an hour with his team celebrating the double-title performance in the 2009 championship. After showing himself at the party briefly, the Brit returned to his hotel and enjoyed some quality time on the phone with his family and friends.

I wanted a bit of alone time,” Button told the British reporters, while “drinking a glass of white wine and wearing a t-shirt that read 'What goes around, comes around',” as noted by the GMM news agency.

We all celebrate it in different ways, and for me to just chill on my own was the best thing for me. I was on the phone to my girlfriend, my family as well, my mum, so I was up until about 4am just lying in bed with a big grin on my face,” added the British driver.

Although his manager confirmed, a few days ago, that Button will start thinking of the 2010 contract soon after he'll have secured his world title, the Brit admitted he knows nothing about what will happen next year. Not only that, but he also told reporters that he's not interested in talking numbers for the time being.

I don't know what's going to happen in the future, and at the moment I don't care because I'm not thinking about it,” concluded Button who, according to Brawn GP's CEO Nick Fry, has a very good chance of staying at Brackley for at least one more season.
