Having secured New Hampshire, Busch now needs "only" 13 more victories to pass Mark Martin as the driver with the most wins in the Nationwide series. Busch, however, managed to beat Martin as the all-time lap leader in the series (8,083).
"That's pretty cool, and it comes after beating one of the best," Busch saidaccording to NASCAR. "There's one more record I'm after, and that's the win record -- to try to beat him and see how many I can set. …Hopefully, we can get another next week at Daytona -- with the new one."
As for what was perhaps the most anticipated return to the Nationwide Series, Danica Patrick's fourth start proved to be another disappointed. But, apparently, she has attenuating circumstances.
On lap 7, Patrick made contact with Morgan Shepherd and got into a spin. As a result, she lost one lap, which added to the four more she lost during the race. At the end, Patrick crossed the finish line 30th. A bad position, yet her best to date.
“It’s disappointing to go down a lap so early, it’s disappointing to start the race with car damage, it’s disappointing to get lapped so many times,” Patrick told FoxNews. “Then again, I was thinking out there at the end that it reminds me a lot of my first short oval races in an IndyCar. I got lapped a ton of times in those."
“It’s part of the process; it’s part of learning. I know these things are going to happen. There’s a lot of really good drivers out here and I was learning how to set people up and pass and how much track to use. I did learn a lot. It was important to finish these laps and I’ll be much better off next time.”
