Busch Apologizes for Showing Finger to NASCAR Official

Kyle Busch lost it during the race at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend and, in the process, gave a NASCAR official the finger to show his frustration. Of course, the incident was caught on camera and broadcast on TV. Reviewing his actions on Sunday, Busch apologized publicly to both his team and NASCAR for his actions.

The whole thing happened when Busch was trying to get back on the track, after he pitted for repairs following a spin on Lap 160. While hurrying to get back on before the pace car, so that he would stay in the same lap as all the other contenders, he was caught speeding in the pit lane and penalized by the NASCAR officials accordingly.

He had to make on more visit to the pits shortly after, so he decided to show his anger with the aforementioned gesture. Obviously, after reviewing the footage and thinking twice of what happened, Busch apologized.

I'm sorry I lost my cool to everybody on this team, to everybody at NASCAR and all of my guys that support me,” said Busch a few hours after the race.

It's just so frustrating the way that you have such a fast race car and then you get spun out and you don't expect to lose your cool, I guess. I lost my cool in what I was doing and I had no worries about a camera inside the car at that point.

Busch eventually finished the race in 32nd place, but could be handed some further penalties by NASCAR as a result of his gesture, especially since it was directed towards a series' official.

I apologise to all of my guys for letting them down and for getting so behind today that we could never make it up,” concluded Busch.
