Burton Lashes Out at Kyle Busch

The Coca-Cola 600 Sprint race on Sunday, won by Kurt Busch, was not without incident and opened the flood gates to a new drivers' skirmish on the sidelines. These times, the main actors are Jeff Burton and the winner of the Charlotte Nationwide race, Kyle Busch.

The former accuses the latter of being too aggressive, after Busch hit the left-rear of Burton's car in the final restart of the Sprint race. At that point, Busch and Burton were fighting for the fifth place, but the contact between the two cars cut a tire on Burton's car, sending him all the way down to 25th place in the end.

"The last restart, Kyle made it three-wide on the restart because the guys on the bottom didn't have tires and he trying to make something happen, which I don't have a problem with," Burton told Autosport.

"So he run into me and cuts my left-rear tyre, then I have a problem with it. He's real aggressive. That's cool. But when he starts affecting me with his aggressiveness, I just will not put up with it. I've been around here long enough. I just will not tolerate it."

Busch on the other hand, who managed to finish the race third, says he's done nothing bad, as he raced against Burton as he does anybody else.

"He said I didn't race him very nicely," Busch stated. "He said I ran into him and I don't know what I could have done to have made that work without touching."

"His team-mate, the 33 made me three-wide getting into turn one. I held it as tight as I could on the 33 trying to stay off the 31. I guess all that nice respect stuff that he talked about earlier this week is out the window. I guess that's how I race everybody."
