Burglars Hit Iowa Car Wash, One of Them Keeps Losing His Pants

As the saying goes, if you’ve got it, flaunt it – even if it’s just for security cameras. During a break-in. At a car wash. Where no money is kept overnight.

Two burglars that hit up a car wash in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, are serious contenders for the not-so-coveted title of “Butt Crack Bandits,” after one of them kept losing his pants while on the job. As noted above, it was all captured on CCTV and footage is now shared online, with the ultimate goal of having the bandits apprehended. And for fun, of course.

Jason Mettler has owned the car wash for 4 years and he’s never been burglarized before. It happened for the first time on Christmas, when the 2 men broke inside and attempted to get money out of the coin safes from the machines.

Mettler, however, makes a habit of not keeping cash there overnight, so the bandits got away with very little of it. Nevertheless, they caused serious damage to the place, which exceeds $20,000, which is why Mettler has gone public with footage and photos of the suspects.

You can see the video at the bottom of the page as well. The heavier suspect is clearly having a hard time keeping his pants on, which results in him unknowingly mooning the security cameras on more occasions than we dared count. And you thought Justin Bieber was bad for always wearing his pants low on his butt: at least he always made sure to have his Calvins on.

“He could use a pair of suspenders. It would be helpful for him,” Mettler says of the suspect, still seeing the humor in the situation. Still, he’s asking for help in identifying and tracking down the suspects because he’s mad that they caused so much damage.

“I get that I'll probably never see a dime from them,” the owner says. “But, just to get them off the streets so it doesn't happen to somebody else.”

And maybe get the dude a better-fitting pair of pants.
