Burger King Makes NASCAR Return

Burger King will officially make their return to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series as of the upcoming season. The famous brand signed a multi-year contract with Stewart-Haas Racing and Tony Stewart for the No 14 car, with primary paint schemes due to appear on two of the most important races in 2009: the 4th of July Cup race at Daytona International Speedway and the Dover race in late September.

“This sponsorship with Tony provides the perfect scenario to get back into NASCAR. His passion, both on and off the track, resonates very well with our core Burger King customers. We've long understood the power of NASCAR, and its millions of fans, and are looking forward to an exciting season,” said Russ Klein, president of global marketing, strategy and innovation for Burger King Corporation, according to NASCAR.com.

On the other hand, Stewart could not be more happy, as he has just secured sponsorship for another full-time campaign in the Sprint Cup Series. Apart from the No 14 car livery, Stewart will also star in several Burger King commercials or be present at events sponsored by the famous North American company throughout the season.

“I'm extremely happy to welcome Burger King Corp. to the team and really proud to be associated with such a great brand. This demonstrates another important step in getting Stewart-Haas Racing ready for the season. I am a huge fan of Burger King restaurants, especially of the Whopper Sandwich, and even received my own customized BK Crown Card!” commented Stewart.

NASCAR fans will not see the Burger King logo only on the No 14 car this season but also at the Eldora Speedway. The company became sole restaurant partner for the circuit in 2009, with the deal including “Burger King signage at the track, hospitality and other on-site activities,” as shown by the aforementioned source.
