Burberry’s Limited Edition Timepiece Is James Bond Worthy

The British luxury fashion house is about to unveil their newest line, the Britain Icon Check collection designed by Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer and CEO Christopher Bailey. Part of this will also be a limited edition timepiece collection featuring two exclusive models - 20 pieces for men and a made to order piece for women. The collection takes its inspiration from the trench coat’s iconic check lining. The check motif is reinterpreted in precious materials, set and assembled in Switzerland.

Crafted in anthracite DLC-treated titanium, the men’s timepiece features a woven check-shaped skeleton dial and a mechanical movement with manual winding. Below the grid, a smoked sapphire crystal permits short glimpses of the mechanical movement.

The model for women has a solid 18K rose gold case with a diamond-set bezel and diamond and mother-of-pearl-set dial. According to Burberry’s press release you can consult below, the dial features 245 diamonds handset in an interwoven grid design, separated with miniature mother-of-pearl pieces precisely cut and laid by hand. 124 diamonds are pave-set into the bezel.

Why James Bond? Because imagining Daniel Craig wearing one as he drives the specially-crated Aston Martin DB10 in a speed chase in Rome almost feels natural. There’s something about the bespoke two-door coupe created for the latest James Bond movie Spectre that makes us associate it with this beautiful piece of jewelry. Maybe it’s the metallic look, the cold but iconic design or its eccentric finish.

Similar to the car, Burberry’s limited edition watch comes with eccentric adornments and like the Aston Martin in question, there are just a few produced. Still no word on the price, but all things considered we’re quite sure these puppies won’t come cheap.
