Bulldozer Rolls Backwards Down a Hill in Russia, Smashes into Lada

Hill assist makes life a lot easier for most car drivers nowadays by holding the brake when they're dealing with a stop-start scenario going up a hill. Unfortunately, the technology hasn't found its way into large construction vehicles yet, otherwise this next crash might not have happened.

This clip was shot just three days ago and shows how a huge bulldozer rolls down a hill in Russia, hitting several cars behind it. Due to probable clutch failure, the multi-ton road-building machine hits an old Lada sedan and turns it into scrap, scaring all its passengers in the process. This includes a lady wearing tiger-print dress, which we have to admit looks kind of funny.

The bad news is that a total of five cars were damaged in this weird accident. The Lada is totaled and looks like a stopping chock for the dozer. The good news is that nobody is hurt.

Mechanical failures of heavy equipment like this are bound to happen. But is there no parking or emergency brake on that monster? If something, heaven forbid, happens to the hydraulics, will the bulldozer just roll off a cliff, for example?

According to many reports, the incident took place in the town of Rostov, one of the oldest in Russia. It's a famous tourist destination, filled with historic buildings, but after seeing this video, we've crossed it off the list of places we're keen to visit this summer.
