Built for a Pocket with Billions, the Savannah From Feadship Is Pure Opulence

The way some people live, folks, we will never be able to touch or even understand. Some levels of opulence are so grand that my own little mind can't believe they exist.

Have a look at the gallery or simply click here to link up to the interior designer's page and just drool a little. That designer is Cristina Gherardi, and the builder for this wonderful vessel turned out to be famed Feadship. Honestly, who else could have put together such a mechanical wonder of the seas?

This 274-foot (83.5m) hull is absolutely stunning from bow to stern. This streamlined hull is optimized to help the one and only single engine run as efficiently as possible. Are they nuts for putting in just one engine for this behemoth? No, as the Savannah is a hybrid superyacht. That lone-wolf diesel engine is assisted by three generators and batteries. An azimuth thruster is also found on the vessel helping with maneuverability.

From the exterior, however, this vessel may seem close to any other around. But once we dive inside, we find where the true differences lie. That’s not to say that the exterior doesn’t have it’s own charm, it’s just that Cristina Gherardi is known for her spectacular interior designs and furniture.

We can start with the rear of the ship and head on up those stairs that we see at the beach club. Once at the top, we are greeted by what seems to be an endless pool. One each side of the pool we found lounge beds, couches and tables.

But it’s in the main lounge where we are truly greeted with a sight straight out of movies. We are greeted by a circular area furnished with wood inlay flooring and a rug that span almost the entire area. Curved leather couches cover nearly half of the circumference of the room and include art deco tables. Huge windows allow for a large amount of natural light into the space. With the option of utilizing floor-to-ceiling curtains to limit visibility. Extra lighting is offered by a couple of lamps and LED lights in the ceiling that are set against a black backdrop and just happen to look like stars on a night sky.

From there we can either stay on the same deck and head towards another more private lounging and meeting area, or we can head upstairs to another deck. The decks above are where we find the masters quarters and guestrooms. Here the flooring remains the same inlay pattern, but with a different wood, lowering the tone of the room. But this is balanced by the use of grey, beige, and white fabrics, to offer a pleasant and calm feeling.

Marble and granite floors, ceilings, and walls, take over his and hers bathroom areas. Additional glass and LED accents help keep lighting low and balanced.

The highest deck, however, houses the forward-facing owner’s suite that features a 270-degree view of its surroundings. Again, wooden inlay flooring is a must with art deco nightstands and a skylight for lighting and just chilling purposes. But no Netflix here. Not with all the toys on board.

Aside from the library, indoor and outdoor dining halls, full size kitchens, hosting areas, and luxury bathrooms, the Savannah also includes one of the largest garages of any real vessels around. It’s rumored to be packed to the brim with four tenders, jet skis, inflatables waterslides, laser kite surfing, mountain bikes and a bunch of other toys we don’t know of.

Now, in order for us to truly describe this vessel in all its splendor and beauty, we would need much more than five minutes. So, do check out that link at the top of the text and get that much better of an understanding of what our world has to offer.
