Built Dodge Challenger Hellcat Races Corvette Z06, Somebody Gets Walked

Despite not belonging to the same genre, Corvettes and muscle cars such as the Dodge Challenger have been racing since they were born, so why should the new models be an exception? In fact, we're here to discuss a velocity brawl involving a Challenger Hellcat and a C7-generation Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Now, we've already seen the stock toys racing in all sorts of scenarios (for one, both can be had with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic, and it looks like we're dealing with two-pedal setups here), but this particular one involved quite a few mods for the Hellcat, as well as the 'Vette.

Can I Be Frank, the YouTube label behind the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, doesn't mention the exact custom goodies fitted to the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 of the Dodge. However, we are told this is a built motor that now delivers over 1,000 horses at the rear wheels (well over 1,150 hp at the crankshaft).

Nevertheless, as mentioned above, the Chevy packs some tricks of its own. Its 6.2-liter V8 has left the factory blower behind in favor of a Magnuson unit, with the list of custom goodies involving the heads and the camshafts, among other things.

Of course, we can't ignore the scale footprint difference between these two beasts, as this sits at about 800 lbs (360 kilograms).

The Challenger Hellcat and the Corvette Z06 engaged in rolling start fights, as is the norm for street fights like the one we have here. Speaking of which, please don't use this shenanigan as an example and make sure to visit a drag strip when you feel like racing.

If you happen to be in a rush, you can skip to the 0:47 point of the clip for the competitive sprinting action.
