Word has it Buick is developing a new crossover that will slotted between the Encore subcompact SUV and the Enclave full-size crossover. Reportedly named Anthem, the new vehicle will be sold on both the North American and the Chinese market.

According to GM Inside News, the new Buick Anthem will most likely enter production in mid-2014 as a 2015 model with different engine on both continents. In North America, the Anthem could be powered by the familiar 2.5-liter and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder units, our source adds. No word on when the crossover will be revealed, but it should show up early next year given the production date.

We have a hunch that the 2015 Anthem will actually be a Chevrolet Captiva / Opel Antara with a Buick badge. I would make a lot of sense given the company's recent "stratigery".
