There's a fine line between confident and overconfident, and Buick seems to know how to walk it.
Their latest commercial for the Verano Turbo take a swipe at an unlikely competitor from what we perceive as the class above, the Audi Audi A4. The message they are trying to get across is that the 2.0-liter turbo equipped to all A4 sold in America makes less power than the 2.0-liter turbo in the Verano Turbo.
The GM model packs 250 horsepower from its 2.0-liter turbo engine, which gets the car from 0 to 60 in 6.2 seconds. The Verano is also cheaper than an A4, starting at $29,990, including a destination charge of $885, at least $2000 less than the Audi.
The Verano Turbo is also well equipped, with a a Bose 9-speaker audio system, leather-appointed upholstery, push-button start, rear park assist and rearview camera, radar-based side blind zone alert and rear cross-traffic alert, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. A power sunroof and navigation are optional.
