Coming to the market with a combination of an internal combustion engine and a small electric motor, the car promises to offer 37 mpg highway fuel economy. The power train of the car is made up of a 2.4l 182 hp engine, as well as a 3.6l V6 unit, capable of developing 303 horsepower, that will be added on select trim levels.
The electric motor, drawing its power from a lithium-ion battery, develops 15 horsepower on its own. Using braking regeneration to capture additional power, the eAssist will also become available on the Regal range later this year.
Otherwise, the eAssist is equipped with pretty much the same features as seen throughout the Buick range, including dual-zone climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, full-color driver information center, and Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
Later in the year, the model will also receive the Buick IntelliLink system, complete with a new 8-inch, high-resolution, full-color touch screen.
