The all-new Buick Envision was given a soft unveiling last month with the automaker releasing a single image of the mid-size crossover, but as the official introduction date of the Envision draws near, more photos are making their way out onto the Internet. Car News China has a full gallery of images showing many aspects of the crossover’s stylish interior.
From the looks of these images, we can see that the crossover will have a very stylish interior starting with its three-spoke steering wheel and three-gauge instrument cluster. Moving over to the center stack, a massive TFT screen sits in a sea of piano black trim, and there’s a small analog clock off to the right. This is also where controls for the parking assist and lane departure warning system reside, which seems like an odd place for these driver controls to be.

Moving down to the center console, the HVAC controls are exactly what we’ve come to expect from Buick and Opel, but the interesting element here is the touch-pad controller, which will be used to control the navigation, audio and IntelliLink infotainment systems. This model definitely seems like a high trim version with its full saddle brown leather seating, but regardless of the trim, the styling should have a luxurious look. There’s even a panoramic sunroof that reaches well into the rear passenger area.

Buick has confirmed at 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine for the Envision, but this article also mentions the possibility of two other versions: a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder putting out around 170 hp and a hybrid model with this same engine paired to an unknown battery and motor source. Buick has said, however, that a new all-wheel-drive system was developed for the Envision, which will be able to split power between the front and rear axles as well as each individual tire.

The all-wheel drive system will help improve the ride and handling of the Buick Envision, but a set of buttons for Sport and Touring modes could suggest that Buick will introduce magnetic ride control on this model. It still isn’t clear if Buick plans on offering the Envision in the U.S., but a recent report says that it will make it to North America by the end of 2015.

Until then, stay tuned as Buick will introduce the Envision, and hopefully some more photos and details, on August 28 in Chengdu, China, which is confirmed in the press release below.
