Small cars that are trying to look big are always going to be popular with younger buyers, and Buick is hoping this will lower the age of its buyers significantly. The Encore is probably the best example of this strategy, a city dweller that won't tow any boats with its 1.4-liter engine, but which stands a chance of becoming a favourite in the segment.
With a starting price of $24,200 and an engine that's smaller and less powerful than the $21,000 Nissan Juke, we still think the packaging and the features on the Encore will translate into sales.

“Encore delivers Buick’s signature quiet and well-crafted luxury in a new and unexpected package,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick Marketing. “Having vehicles on trucks and heading to dealers means we’re one step closer to letting customers experience that for themselves.”
Smaller but more expensive than the Verano sedan, the Ecore's best features are its efficiency (25 city/33 highway), safety (10 standard airbags) and a host of other helpful tools, like Forward Collision Alert, which uses a camera-based system to alert the driver of a possible collision, and Lane Departure Warning, which alerts the driver when a lane marker is crossed without the use of a turn signal.
