Bugatti’s Christmas Card Teases Us with the Chiron

In its newest Christmas Card, Bugatti pictures the Veyron’s successor, Chiron, underneath a blue cover with the description “to be unwrapped in Geneva 2016,” referring to the public revealing of the much-awaited hypercar.

Currently, Bugatti has more than 100 pre-orders registered for the Chiron, making it more business profitable than its predecessor, the Veyron, which has been sold out in no less than 10 years, much more than it was initially planned.

The automaker has recently announced that the Chiron is being tested in different places around the world, and according to the latest rumor, the quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine will generate 1,500 horsepower and 1,500Nm of torque, and the power will be transmitted to all four wheels through a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

The new model, named after Bugatti’s works driver Louis Chiron, will apparently launch from a standstill to 60mph in only 2.3 seconds and have a maximum speed of 480km/h. The Chiron will have something special that will wake up your inner child, of course, and we are talking about the speedometer that will allegedly end at 500km/h.

Bugatti is expected to launch its newest car at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, and it might be possible for a Targa version with a removable carbon fiber panel to be created somewhere around 2018. The total production is said to be stopping at 500 units. According to the VW Group, the Chiron will be “significantly better” than the Veyron. Not to worry, though, because we are sure Bugatti will launch some special editions like they did with the previous model.

Seeing what Koenigsegg or Pagani have in store, it’s not hard to understand what’s with Bugatti stepping up their game.

No price has been yet confirmed, but we expect the sum to be way over $2 million, so if you’re a wealthy Bugatti fan, you’ll have to pay a lot more money for your next Christmas present.
