French luxury car manufacturer Bugatti released the first official video featuring their new Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse WRC, the world's fastest production roadster.
Introduced at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse reached a top speed of 408.84 km/h (254.04 mph) at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien proving grounds about three weeks ago, becoming the fastest open-top production car in the world.
Dubbed "World Record Car" (WRC), the production version of the Guinness record holder will be built in only eight units and sold for €1.99 million ($2.60 million). As a reminder, the Grand Sport Vitesse is powered by a quad-turbocharged 7.9-liter W16 engine with an output of 1,200 HP.
The video posted below features Chinese racing driver Anthony Liu reaching 408.84 km/h at Ehra-Lessien, in front of the company's staff and Germany's independent Technical Inspection and Certification (TUV) committee, who arrived at the scene to confirm the world record.
