SUVs used to be seen as risky for sports car manufacturers, who might bleed customers and brand image at the same time. But Bentley, Lamborghini, and Rolls-Royce have all joined the high-rider family. So is it time for Bugatti to do the same?
According to Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the answer is no. "There will be no SUV from Bugatti," he said in a recent interview, adding that this "would not do justice to the brand or its history."

Of course, Winkelmann said that before, when he was the boss of Lamborghini. But now we have the Urus, and every rapper wants one. Instead of an SUV, the VW Group exec backed the Estoque GT-style car, which somehow mirrors the four-door Bugatti was looking to add.

However, we find there is one major difference between Lamborghini or Bentley and Bugatti. The most basic Chiron hypercar costs $3 million, which is several times more than any SUV available right now. On top of this, the French company also produces pure automotive vulgarity like the Divo.

It can pretty much charge anything it wants and there's no limit on fabrication or build times. On the other hand, super-expensive luxury or performance SUVs are filled with parts from other lesser brands, or even engines.

But let's just focus on the Bugatti SUV purely as a styling exercise. It's not easy to take design elements that have been used for sports cars over several decades and blow them up. The Urus and Bentayga have both been hit with criticism, but the biggest horror show may the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Keeping that 2.7-ton monstrosity in mind, we want to show you something cool, the Bugatti Spartacus created by Sajdin Osmancevic, a veteran of the car rendering world. It has unique proportions, to say the least.

its wheels are positively massive, way more than the 1/2 (vs. body height) ratio dictates. On the other hand, the greenhouse is low, defined in profile by the same C-shape we see on La Voiture Noire. And the back, well, it doesn't belong to an SUV at all, more like a futuristic tribute to classic Bugatti models.

There's also carbon everywhere - the front grille, skirts and inside the vents at the back. You won't see any exhaust here, so it could be an electric concept.
