Bugatti Galibier to Go on Sale in Fall 2012

While no official information has been released yet in regards to the car’s name and performance figures, the President and CEO of Bugatti, Wolfgang Durheimer, keeps giving us some heads-up on the production of the car from time to time.

For example, in a recent interview with the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, Durheimer confirms the Galibier (rumored to exit production lines under the Royale designation) will arrive on the market from autumn 2012.

The company expects some four digit sales figures from the high-performance sedan that is to be almost as fast and as powerful as a Veyron but with four doors, four seats, and plenty of room in the boot.

“The car has a much higher value that the Veyron - with lot of trunk volume and a four-seat plus one configuration. We are taking into consideration various scenarios, from 500, to even 1,000 or 1,500 units produced,” Durheimer was quoted as saying by the aforementioned source.

Coming to replace the Veyrom and boasting a 16-cylinder engine, the Galibier/Royale will come with a rumored output from 800 to 1,000 horsepower. The company has not placed a price tag on the model yet, but they are anticipating it will be more then one million euros.

“We will set the price at the end. The amount is expected to be of seven figures. Today, the Veyron range is priced between 1.2 and 2 million euros. In the end, the Galibier is the absolute benchmark in the four-door sedan segment,”
Durheimer stated.

With its 16 cylinders of the Galibier technology will "define the undisputed leadership in its segment," he added. "Bugatti will continue to be the laboratory for developing revolutionary engineering approaches," Durheimer concluded.
