When it was revealed in August 2018, the Divo used to retail at €5 million or $5.4 million. A lot of money, even by hypercar standards, that’s true, but the list of eye-watering figures doesn’t end here. Changing the oil, for example, costs between $20,000 and $25,000 depending on who you ask.
Coming courtesy of The Stradman, the following delivery video features a Divo that’s lovingly nicknamed the Ladybug. “A million dollars” were reportedly spent on the paint job, and this figure is impossible to verify without the window sticker. I suggest taking this price with a pinch of salt, but on the other hand, Bugatti is well known for absolutely insane pricing.

Exposed carbon fiber for the Chiron’s bodywork will set you back more than $200,000, the whole body shell in exposed carbon fiber is closer to $300,000, and really mundane options such as the carbon mirror caps retail in the ballpark of $10,000. The French automaker, therefore, could have easily charged $1 million for the exterior makeover of this custom Divo.

It’s also worth remembering that the Divo, unlike the Chiron on which it’s based, is very rare. Only 40 units are planned for production as opposed to 500 for the base model in all its variations. Bugatti, however, can do even better than that if you remember the ridiculous price of the Voiture Noire.

A one-off model introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the black-painted hypercar with Type 57 SC Atlantic styling influences cost €16.7 million or $18.7 million at the exchange rates from two years ago. Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was rumored to have ordered the Voiture Noire, but his spokesperson shot down the gossip almost immediately.

Turning our attention back to the Divo one last time, care to guess how much suck-squeeze-bang-blow is hiding under the central fin? From four turbochargers, 8.0 liters of displacement, and 16 cylinders, the French automaker has extracted 1,479 horsepower and a whopping 1,180 pound-feet (1,600 Nm) of torque available from 2,000 right up to 6,000 rpm.
