Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Roadster Looks Majestic

Yes, the image sitting before us is a rendering and yet there's more to this Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Roadster concept than meets the eye.

"Why would you want to take the top off in a car that has set a world record for hitting 304 mph?" one might ask. But this is not the correct question, which goes a bit like "Why not?"

After all, the Super Sport 300+ can be considered the successor of the Veyron Super Sport and the latter did come with a Grand Sport Vitesse open-air derivative - in case you're wondering, the generation change has placed a meaty 400 hp on top of the old car's 1,200 ponies. So the demand for such a toy would certainly be there. But what about the supply?

Well, there's no clear indication that Molsheim will steer clear of chopping the roof of the long-tail model it has created (the rear of the hypercar was elongated for aero purposes).

Nevertheless, if such a limited edition would show up, we'd have to wait quite a bit for it. For one thing, the first customers of the Super Sport 300+ will only get their cars in 2021, with just 30 units set to be produced.

Sadly, while the factory car hit 304 mph, customer vehicles will be electronically limited to a more mundane 273 mph.

The fixed-roof model comes with a financial burden of EUR3.5 million ($3.89 million at the current exchange rate) plus taxes, so we could only expect a healty premium for the removable roof.

Until we get our hands on more potential clues on the Roadster topic, make sure to also check out the second Instagram post below.

Coming from exotic car dealer Miller Motor Cars, the clip shows Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann driving the record car onto the stage of a Molsheim-held Grand Tour event meant held earlier this week, with this meant to celebrate the brand's 110th anniversary (do keep the sound on, okay?).
