One of many Chiron-based special editions, the Pur Sport greeted us in March 2020 with a $3.55 million sticker price. Ten months after the grand reveal, the French automaker from Molsheim has delivered the first of 60 units to a customer in the United States.
"Bugatti of Greenwich is honored to have delivered the world’s first Chiron Pur Sport to a very valued and loyal client,” said sales manager Evan Cygler. This particular example of the breed is finished in Quartz White with Grey Carbon and Gun Powder accents. The biggest highlight of the exterior is called Sky View Roof, an expensive option that consists of two 65- by 44-centimeter (25.6- by 17.4-in) glass panels integrated into the roof.

Open the driver’s door, and you’re presented with a sea of red upholstery, diamond quilting, Alcantara on the transmission tunnel, and carbon fiber on the dashboard. It’s a lovely blend of luxury and performance, an interior that would impress even a Rolls-Royce Phantom owner with the quality of the materials and the sheer attention to detail.

Don’t forget, however, that the Pur Sport was designed to combine grand touring with corner-carving. The ginormous fixed rear wing trades top speed in favor of more aerodynamic downforce than the Chiron, which says a lot about the dynamic capabilities of the vehicle.

Officially rated at 218 miles per hour (351 kilometers per hour), the Pur Sport also happens to be lighter than the Chiron by 110 pounds (50 kilograms), which translates into increased agility in the twisties. Bugatti has also worked its magic in terms of gear ratios and suspension setup, and as you can clearly tell from the photos, the Pur Sport features a custom tire compound designed to match the ultra-light Aero magnesium wheels.

From 8.0 liters of displacement, 16 cylinders, and no fewer than four turbochargers, the leviathan of an engine located behind the driver’s back is rated at 1,500 PS and 1,600 Nm. In American currency, make that 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of earth-shattering torque.
