What a movie or TV show that would have been, right? Imagine the Jetsons having to fight off scavengers or Tom Hardy (sorry, Mel, but he's better at grunting) having to deal with Judy Jetson's boy problems - I would pay to watch that.
In the absence of a cinematic merger between the two titles, we'll have to make do with an automotive one. We have no idea who we have to thank for the existence of this little trashy beauty ( we can thank @new_bestcar for the pictures), but we're pretty sure they are a fun person to hang around with. You just can't imagine somebody with a bland sense of humor put something like this together, can you?
Judging by where everything is - as well as the hood, which was carried over unmodified - we'd say this mix-match of parts was once a Volkswagen Beetle. Then the owner found an oversized glass bowl and, after pondering whether to make a giant salad or stick it on top of a car, they decided for the latter.
I kid, of course, but you shouldn't be surprised if that canopy was what sparked the idea for this project. From there on, it was all a matter of putting it together in a way that would keep the rain out and making sure it had everything it needed to run. I mean, we assume it runs.
Given its low stance and presume lightness, I suspect this is a very fun to drive rat rod. On the other hand, it doesn't look as though comfort was among the top priorities, and tall people might have to drive with the head tilted to one side, which might take away from the experience. Still, I hear it offers an excellent field of view.
Looking at the pictures, you'll see it's not just the car that's trashy, but the shooting location as well. The photographer really stuck with the theme of the car when they chose the surroundings, and they definitely deserve some credit for it.
