Bubba Blackwell to Demo at the HD Museum

While the Harley-Davidson Museum is hosting "True Evel: The Amazing Story of Evel Knievel" exhibit, motorcycle stuntman Bubba Blackwell will make a special appearance there on August 15 to perform two free and open-to-the-public motorcycle stunt shows.

Blackwell, best known for breaking the world records previously held by Evel Knievel for jumping both cars and buses, will use H-D bikes to do some wheelies, burnouts and more. Fans will also get the chance to take autographs and photographs with the American daredevil.

Blackwell began his career in 1998 by jumping 20 cars and breaking the first of several of Evel’s records, so his visit to this exhibit is only fitting.

"No matter how crazy people thought Evel’s stunts were, I think that deep down, everyone admired his courage and his unique presentation," said Blackwell in a statement for the press.

On display in the "True Evel" exhibit is Blackwell’s Harley-Davidson XR-750 motorcycle, which he crashed while attempting to jump 22 cars on July 4, 2001. The bike is in the condition it was in following the crash – a crash that left Bubba in a coma and on life support. Prior to the crash, the daredevil rode this XR-750 on the set of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 1999, and he used this bike to break Evel’s jump records.

The next event to take place at the H-D Museum takes place on August 28-29, when some of the most well-known BMX athletes including Nate Wessel, Zack "Catfish" Yankush, Micah Kranz, will gather there for "Generation Evel: The Next Generation of American Stuntment."
