Bruno Senna to Replace Trulli at Lotus?

As impossible as it may seem, Bruno Senna's performances at Hispania Racing F1 Team this season might get him a job with a better team next season. According to a report issued by Brazilian publication O Globo, it seems that the nephew of 3-time world champion Ayrton Senna is close to inking a one-year deal with the future Lotus-Renault team.

Bruno Senna is close to getting something better. He is in talks with Lotus and these talks are already well advanced,” said the aforementioned report, hinting that the driver who will be replaced by Senna will be none other than veteran Jarno Trulli.

Senna's debut season in Formula One has been nothing short of disappointing, mainly because of his poorly developed car. HRT F1's challenger has been by far the slowest on every track this season, and its poor reliability cost the Brazilian racer some 9 DNFs out of 16 races.

However, it seems that his poor relationship with HRT's team manager Colin Kolles is also a factor in his leaving the Spanish team. Prior to this year's British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Kolles decided to bench Senna after a leaked email in which his driver was complaining about the incredibly bad Dallara-based car he was given to race in 2010.

The Brazilian report cited sources close to the driver and suggested that a deal may be finalized once all the sponsors agree on a definitive backing. In case it works out, it would be the second time the names of Senna and Lotus will race for the same goal in F1.

Before his glory days at McLaren, Ayrton Senna drove a Renault-powered Lotus to his first victory in the championship back in 1985, continuing his run at Lotus with 5 more wins, 24 podiums, 16 pole positions and 150 points.
