Bruno Senna Drifts 675LT Spider in a Funny Coat to Celebrate McLaren Selling It Out in 2 Weeks

McLaren wanted to ensure all its 2015 plans were covered before enjoying Christmas. With the 675LT Spider having been released on December 3, perhaps some expected the open-top track-savvy Mac to wait for the Holidays to end, but that's not what happened - the 675LT Spider is now sold out.

That's right, McLaren managed to find customers for all 500 units of the supercar in just two weeks. That's 1.5 Longtail Spiders per hour, non-stop.

While we're not sure the acquisitions followed the algorithm above, we know why the latest Mac played the hot cupcake role.

You see, the Spider incarnation of the 675LT is a bit of a controversial machine, as many of those who ordered a fixed roof Longtail bet on the 500-unit exclusivity card, not expecting Woking to also release a Spider.

Truth be told, introducing the open top 675LT was a matter of choosing long-term benefits over short-term drawbacks, so it's hard to argue with McLaren's decision.

Let's focus on the driving in this story, shall we?

We'd prefer to talk about how the automaker celebrated the commercial success of the 666 hp Spider. The company kindly asked Bruno Senna to show the world the 515 lb-ft of the 675LT Spider can be put to drifting work even with the open differential of the car.

Bruno, who currently collaborates with the British carmaker on multiple track fronts, mentorship of the P1 GTR customer racing program included, said "yes."

Well, here we are, looking at the pro driver manhandling the 675LT in a funny coat - we admit, one of our own used to attend drives in such a coat and it seemed just as amusing back then. As coat can be adjusted for open top driving, we have to admit its practicality.

And since we're talking apparel, Bruno's helmet is not the only one reminding us of Ayrton Senna. Check out the footwork at 0:46 and you'll understand.
