Commuting on a motorcycle is a daily activity for many people, but if you have a white-collar job, wearing a suit on your ride might raise a few problems. Bad weather might ruin your whole day. Plus, you also have to have some sort of protection on the road, which a regular suit doesn't really provide. Startup company Brummell thought about them all and came up with a blazer specifically designed so you can enjoy your ride and stay safe, all while looking classy.
Called the Brummell Blazer, this product is tailored with a protective outer layer that is laced with DuPont Kevlar fiber used in the production of buletproof vests. This makes it extremely abrasion-resistant. In case of a crash, it won't tear down easily, and it will offer some protection to the rider.
Most motorcycle jackets will feature armor-specific pockets in which CE-certified armor can be inserted. The same idea was applied to this blazer, except that the company decided to incorporate the protectors in the shoulder and elbow areas. Made of PU foam, the armor offers CE Level 2 protection.
I was talking about bad weather earlier. Well, to solve that issue, a windproof gilet that closes up with YKK zippers was included to cover the usually exposed chest and neck area when you ride. It's also removable, so you can take it off whenever it's too hot.
With all the moving and turning, wearing a suit on a motorcycle is not the most comfortable thing. For that, the blazer comes with gussets and elastane fibers that allow free movement for your body.
The Brummell Blazer is available in three colors (navy, checked, and black) and has an Italian cut that gives it a quite elegant look. Currently, the product available on the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, where it has already exceeded its $10,000 goal. The blazer can be pre-order for $529, with shipping set to begin later this year in October.
