Bruce Jenner Might Have Been Texting When Fiery Crash Happened Killing One, Leaving 7 Injured

It appears reality TV star Bruce Jenner has been surrounded by bad omens recently. Even though he was not injured, the Saturday fiery crash might leave him with some serious charges since the driver of the white Lexus he crashed his Cadillac Escalade into tragically passed away. Seven others were left injured in the four-car pile-up that happened on the Pacific Highway in Malibu, Los Angeles.

Investigation is ongoing, but first details show that Jenner was going North when his black Cadillac Escalade rear-ended a Lexus sedan that had just struck the back of a black Toyota Prius. The crash turned a lot worse the moment the Lexus then veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a black Hummer. The driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tabloids now write that the victim was somewhat close to the Kardashians which most likely makes things even harder to bare for the 65-year old celebrity. On the other hand, investigators have already established the Olympic gold medalist and Kardashian family patriarch was not speeding and it appears he also was sober, yet blood tests are still to prove that. Meanwhile, police officers are still looking into what had triggered the crash in the first place.

Things such as texting while driving and even smoking are considered in the officers’ investigation, especially that Jenner was pictured holding a cigarette moments after the collision happened. According to the Daily Mail, mobile phone records of all four drivers and any video evidence will also be looked into in order to establish if any of the people involved could be charged for reckless driving.

As to smoking while driving, as of 2008, it is an infraction punishable by a fine not exceeding $100 for “a person to smoke a pipe, cigar or cigarette in a vehicle when a minor is present”. However, you can’t be pulled over just for smoking, there has to be another reason.
