British Police Go on Patrol with Kia Soul

We already know that Kia Soul appeared to be extremely appealing to the British customers ever since it was launched in the UK market, becoming one of the best selling models in Kia’s current model lineup. However, we must admit we would have never pictured a Soul as a Police car.

Even if the Soul doesn’t seem to be the perfect choice for policemen who patrol the streets, a local Kia dealership, Toll House, decided to donate one to the Sussex Police to be used by their team of Police Community Support Officer's (PCSOs).

The team that will use the car in securing the streets from now on, is as enthusiastic about it as a kid that gets a new toy. “The car is as highly visible as we are!" says PCSO Charlotte Whittaker. "We were delighted to have been given a car by Toll House, but to have one that turns heads as swiftly as this one does only helps us become more visible to the public."

The white Soul with darkened windows will be used by the patrol officers from Upper Beeding to Henfield and will be parked in visible spots. Covered with stickers that refer more to the Kia dealership than the local Police, the car looks more like a way to advertise the Kia Soul than keeping the neighborhood safe.

"Our PCSOs do a fantastic job of keeping a consistent police presence within our local communities and the Soul heightens that awareness. We’re extremely grateful for the support that Toll House Kia has shown us,” said Inspector Paul Williams.

“Working in partnership with our community ensures that Horsham South remains a safe place in which to live and work. The car will soon become a familiar sight in and around the area, being used by local officers in their day to day business."
