Switching from driving a car to riding a motorcycle will change the way you see traffic forever. It's not just that being so much thinner you can now squeeze through spaces that were previously impossible to get through, but also the fact that there are now countless new dangers.
A pot on the road isn't just something that can spill your coffee, but a potential death trap. A cat or a dog running across the street aren't just somebody's pets you do your best to protect, but the cause of potentially fatal accidents if you choose to brake or swerve violently. You're going to have to keep an eye out for anything a lot more carefully than you did before.

A horse, though, is a very serious threat to anybody on the road, not to mention to itself. Mr. Matt Lakin, a firefighter from Albrighton, Great Britain, was riding his Kawasaki bike to work one morning when he spotted a light-gray horse escaping from a field nearby and entering the road. The rider immediately realized the danger posed by the animal, so he initiated a chase to try and bring the horse back to safety.

Lacking a lasso and the necessary skill to use it, all he had to work with was his bike. The horse was moving too fast to be chased on foot, so he pursued on his motorcycle, which probably made the horse nervous and constantly drove him away. Mr. Lakin bid his time, using the engine noise of his bike to drive the horse forward towards a field he knew just a few yards away. As they got there, he cut in front of the animal and managed to divert its path towards the field.

According to the video description, the owners of the horse have since been located and the animal is now safe, as is anybody else on the road. Mr. Lakin said that just three months ago, a horse was killed by a vehicle in that very same area, so the moment he saw it coming onto the road, he knew he had to do something about it. So, firefighter AND horse-saviour - not bad, Mr. Lakin, not bad at all.
