Briatore to Sue Piquets after Winning Case Against the FIA

Now that “justice has been done” by the French court in the famous crash-gate – although the judges did not issue any verdict on Flavio Briatore's innocence or guilt in the race fixing scandal – the 59-year old Italian is seriously considering going after the people who have damaged his image in the aforementioned saga.

And, since it all started with Nelson Piquet Jr. and his father coming forward and accusing Briatore and Pat Symonds for fixing the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, the first legal action he will take will be directed to the Brazilian family.

“That's very likely. The bad that has been done to me won't be forgotten in one day,” said Briatore, when asked by the reporters from the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport if he's considering the launch of a legal case against the Piquets.

In addition, the former Renault boss is also angry with the people that left him following the FIA verdict in the crash-gate, namely the drivers who preferred to look elsewhere for a manager and not be associated with the image of a race-fixer. While revealing that it was only Heikki Kovalainen and Lucas di Grassi who opted for a manager change, Briatore admitted he is now considering launching a legal case against them too.

“Except for Kovalainen and Di Grassi, my relationship with the other drivers has never changed. In fact, now we'll analyze the situation with the lawyers to see whether we should take legal action against anyone who has broken the contracts with us,” added the Italian manager, according to the aforementioned source.

He also did not forget to mention Max Mosley in this entire affair, the man who he personally holds responsible for the initial ban handed to him by the World Motor Sport Council.

“It was a case of vengeance from Mosley, who has always managed the FIA and the World Council as if it was private property,” added Briatore.
