BRD Receives Financing, RedShift Electric Bike Closer to Series Production

It's been quite a long time since we last heard from BRD and their sweet electric bike prototype, the RedShift. However, the guys at BRD have been busy bees of late and great news come from them these days.

First of all, they've received a hefty financial support worth of $1 million (€737,000) from Third Shore Group (TSG) and this makes sure their boat floats and will also help them open a new satellite facility in Michigan.

BRD Motorcycles will also benefit from the TSG human resources and EV commercialization expertise, while the group's strong connections in the motorcycle supply chains will also help speed things up.

Another great step forward for BRD is having Tesla's co-founder Martin Eberhard in the Advisory Board. EBerhard's expertise with Tesla should help the electric bike manufacturer build a strong presence in Silicon Valley, despite the different orientation of the area, BRD CEO Marc Fenigstein adds.

Finally, it looks like seeing the RedShift rolling on the streets of North America is one step closer to reality, as BRD inked an agreement with BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco as its first dealer.

This appears to set the bar pretty high, as the aforementioned dealer is one of the top representatives for the Bavarian manufacturer and its professional standards will most likely positively impact BRD's business and presence.

A production version of the RedShift is yet to be expected, but no info on the launch date was provided, only rumors that the bike was improved.
