Brazil is rapidly becoming a major target for big global automakers, who are tailoring existing cars to make new ones more suited to this market. At the upcoming Sao Paulo Auto Show this month, Chevrolet will debut a brand new hatchback called the Onix.
This car is built on a B-segment platform and has been designed to take on Brazil’s heavyweights, the Fiat Palio and VW Gol. It’s expected to go on sale in November offering intelligent new features.

The Onix will feature a 1.0-liter 82 hp motor for the LS and LT trim levels, wthile the LTZ will have a 1.4-liter with 106 hp. Both engines will run on either gasoline or the cheaper ethanol. It comes as standard with a manual, and next year an automatic version will be offered as well, according to AutosSegredos.

Chevrolet will offer the car with an optional MyLink infotainment system, which will be integrated into a dashboard-mounted screen.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
