Brawn to Take Role in SKIDZ Motor Projects Charity

Given the fact that Formula One has officially survived the political crisis and team bosses can now focus on day-to-day activities, Ross Brawn made the most of his 3-week vacation (until the upcoming German Grand Prix) to become the patron of the SKIDZ Motor Projects charity. As revealed by an AUTOSPORT report, Brawn will take this new role in due time and will try to raise approximately one million pounds sterling for SKIDZ.

For those of you who are not very familiar with the SKIDZ Motor Project, you can visit their official web site at http://www.skidz.org.uk. Long story short, the project is trying to raise enough money so it can afford a definitive base for their programmes, aimed at providing opportunities for disadvantaged children and teenagers to gain know how in the motor engineering department.

I am delighted to become a Patron of the SKIDZ Motor Projects charity and to lend my support to their fundraising campaign for new premises for the Wycombe Motor Project,” said Brawn, according to the aforementioned report.

Practical experience is key to getting the best possible grounding in the motor trade and this is where SKIDZ really makes a difference to the future prospects for the young people involved. Along with my work with Formula Student and F1 in Schools, I hope that my involvement in SKIDZ can make a real difference,” added Brawn.

Among the companies that are currently supporting the SKIDZ charity are Volvo Cars UK, Kawasaki, the Motorcycle Industry Association, European Social Fund, and others. The project is currently based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and Aylesbury, Bucks, both in the UK.
