Brawn Happy with Mercedes' Progress

Earlier today, we reported to you about the prospect of seeing Ross Brawn gradually making an exit from Formula One starting next season. After admitting that he will probably not take 20+ trips around the world with the Mercedes GP team next season, everybody assumed his role within the Brackley based team would diminish.

Until we'll get a clear on that, Brawn seems to be focusing on his work. And that is ensuring a strong finale for Mercedes GP in the 2010 season and securing a title-winning development base for the upcoming season. Whether he'll remain team boss or pick up a rather technical role with the outfit in 2011 is not that important in that equation. What's important, as argued by Brawn, is that things seem to fall into place for his team. Finally!

We are getting there. It has probably taken a bit longer than we expected, but we keep seeing these really good bits of progress, and we are putting everything together for next year,” said Brawn in a recent interview with Autosport.

We are just getting everything working properly. The F-duct is good, and we have the fastest straight-line speed now. We are not changing many things, just understanding how to set the car up, and it is really just consolidation, which is a lesson,” he added.

In the recent Korean Grand Prix, both Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher qualified inside the Top 10, while both running in top positions throughout the race. While Rosberg's performance was ruined by Mark Webber's spin, Schu eventually recorded his highest race finish since comeback, P4.
