It seems like the new bruiser from Munich is out to get some blood. The 2016 BMW F85 X5 M is starting to arrive at various happy owners around the world, and drag races are bound to show up online. Youtube is in X5 M fever!
After we took a look at what happened when a 647 HP Corvette went up against the SUV on a drag strip in Russia yesterday, today we’re judging a completely different setup. This time, we’re dealing with a rolling start and a car that has a lot less power.

Admittedly, we don’t have an official number but we can take a guess. The uploader claims that the Audi TT-RS in the video was upgraded by the in-house tuner for the four-ringed brand, MTM. He also claims that it was just an ECU remap which actually allows us to figure out the kind of power it’s putting down at the wheels.

The all-wheel drive RS coupe has a 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine making 340 HP in its stock version joined by a hefty 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. The MTM tuned version should have 410 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal. That's quite a lot for a car that tips the scale at just 1,550 kg (3,417 lbs).

On the other hand, we have a monster that weighs 2.3 tons and uses a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo mill to get around. The X5 M is rated by BMW at 575 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque from the factory but a lot of people are claiming that it makes a lot more than that.

Both cars are all-wheel drive and a standing start wouldn’t have made a huge difference but could 800 kg (1,763 lbs) less and better aerodynamic profile make up for 165 HP and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque? Let’s take a look!
