Aaand... it's game on in the electric racing world, as Oregon-based electric bike manufacturer Brammo openly challenged the Spark-Renault SRT_01E FIM Formula E beast, asking whether they'd race against an Empulse RR.
According to the Brammo Facebook page, a future race could be held at the iconic Laguna Seca, but as it's been only 5 days since the gauntlet was thrown, there's no news as of Spark-Renault considering such a competition.
Brammo's question looks like a simple math problem: "An 800kg car with 200kW (270 bhp) or a 200kg bike with 130kW (170 hp)?", but we just know there's so much more things involved in this when it comes to racing.
As for the circuit itself, things are even fuzzier: the Spark-Renault has more traction and more rubber to burn, but it would have to slow down through difficult turns such as the Corkscrew, whereas a motorcycle would simply dart through at very high speed.
Even if doubtful, such a race would be a truly interesting thing to watch, as it may also hint the industry leaders on some critical aspects of e-racing. Can you imagine the Empulse RR passing the Spark-Renault around the Corkscrew like Marquez passed Rossi?
