Brammo CEO Helps US Promote Exports to China

Currently in a mission to China to promote US exports of technologies related to clean energies, US Secretary Gary Locke is also accompanied by Brammo CEO, Craig Bramscher. The delegation comprises 22 US firms representing a cross-section of US industries that have developed products, services or technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The business development mission is now in Hong Kong, and will further continue to Shanghai and Beijing, a statement from Brammo reveals.

The US saw in China an ideal market for the expansion of its green technologies, as China's central government has made clean energy and energy efficiency strategic priorities. In the 11th Five-Year Plan the government has set targets to reduce energy intensity per unit of GDP by 20% as well as reduce emissions for major pollutants such as sulfur dioxides and carbon dioxide, by 10%.

The first product from Brammo to be brought to the Chinese market is the Enertia bike, which is currently in trial use with the Hong Kong Police and the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department.

The first electric motorcycle launched by Brammo, the Enertia bike, is a 100% fully-electric motorcycle built in Ashland, Oregon, and it is currently on sale in the US at $7995. The bike has a top speed of over 60 miles per hour (95 km/h), a range of 42 miles (68 kilometers) and a charging time of about 4 hours.

The electric machine will be distributed in China by JCAM Advanced Mobility Company, a Hong Kong-based electric vehicle distribution company co-founded by megastar Jackie Chan.
