While the Mercedes-Benz A250 is no slouch, with a two-liter turbocharged direct injection four-pot delivering 211 hp, the A45 AMG is in a different league, sporting the most powerful four-cylinder engine currently in mass production.
The AMG starts from a little over 41.750 Euros in Germany, which is not exactly a prohibitive price, but that amount is over 33% than what you would pay for an A250 CGI.

Always helpful for whatever Mercedes-Benz power-related predicament someone might have, the tuning specialists from Brabus have released the B25 PowerXtra CGI kit, which is a plug-an-play ECU upgrade for the A-Class, B-Class and CLA 250 CGI.

For a little over 1200 Euros, the power kit can increase the total output from 211 to 245 hp, while the two-liter engine's torque goes from 350 Nm (258 lb ft) to 385 Nm (284 lb ft). The new 6.2 seconds (6.1 for the 4Matic version) time from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is not exactly A45 AMG territory, but it sure brings the gap closer between the two models for a very small amount of spending.

If you want to see what a larger amount of spending can bring your A 250 from Brabus, check out the adjacent gallery.
