The Essen Motor Show was the venue chosen by Brabus to show off their new tuning kit for the Mercedes-Benz GL seven-seater SUV. The list of exterior mods is not that extensive, and it only includes a selection of custom wheels, the maximum size of which is 23 inches, a custom exhaust system with either dual or single chrome exhaust tips, as well as aluminium scuff plates for the sills, with the backlit Brabus logo.
The air suspension control module is also updated, and it now allows the big Merc to ride 30 mm lower than stock, in order to give it that little bit of extra aerodynamic boost. Inside, the SUV gets a combination of leather and alcantara upholstery and various different choices of wood or carbon fiber trim pieces.

Modifications have also been made under the bonnet, with the addition of a powerbox. It boosts the horsepower rating of the GL350 to 310 hp, while the GL500 gets 521 hp. The former is therefor able to sprint to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, while the latter does it in five seconds dead, before topping out at 273 km/h (171 mph). Thsi kit is very similar to the one they do for the ML-Class SUV.
