When we hear Brabus, the first thing that comes to mind is engine torque having to be electronically limited in order for it not to devour the gearbox. Nonetheless, today we are here to talk about a much milder approach, which comes in the form of Brabus’s new W2015 C-Class package.
In the tech department, the C200 four-cylinder petrol unit has received a new electronic management. The 2.0-liter unit, which delivers 182 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) in stock from, now delivers an extra 41 hp and 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
As a result, the Brabus C200 needs 0.3s less to play the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) game, requiring 7 seconds flat for the job. Moreover, the top speed was increased from 235 to 242 km/h (150 mph).
Oil-burning fans shouldn’t be worried, Brabus has almost completed the performance kit for the C220 BlueTec. The 2.2-liter diesel, which produces 170 hp and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) when it leaves the factory, will be gifted with the PowerXtra D3 kit. This will bring a premium of 50 hp and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
Thus, the 0 to 100 km/h sprint drops 0.5 seconds to 7.1 seconds, while the top speed is increased from 229 km/h (142 mph) to 240 km/h (149 mph).
As for the exterior of the C-Class, Brabus offers an aerodynamic package destined for Standard and Avantgarde trim levels, as well as for the models featuring the Exclusive package. The front apron receives extra air intakes, as well as a lip spoiler, while the rear apron gets an add-on element. The list is completed by a boot lid lip spoiler.
As usual, Brabus offers a multitude of custom wheels, with a 20-inch diameter being the limit.
