This is what Brabus must call "mild tuning". If you're used to their 850 hp plus cars, this minor 90 hp bump in Mercedes-AMG C63 S's power will look like small potatoes.
The German outfit is by far the best tuner of Mercedes-Benz and mostly Mercedes-AMG models, so whenever they come up with a new offering, they get our full attention.

The power bump comes courtesy of a new engine performance tuning package called PowerXtra B40-600 which pushes the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine to 600hp at 5,800 rpm, and 800Nm (590lb-ft) from 1,750 to 4,500 rpm. This kit is available for both body styles of the AMG C63 S (sedan and estate), even though there's no word on the newly released C63 S Coupe.

As always, extra power brings better performances: the Mercedes-AMG C63 S sedan with the PowerXtra B40-600 package has a ridiculous 3.8 seconds 0-100km/h (0-62mph) sprint time and a top speed of 300km/h (186mph).

But Brabus didn't make their name just by simply tinkering with engines. Oh, no, they're just as famous for their menacing black cars wearing all sorts of modified body parts. What they have in store for the 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 S is not necessarily that spectacular, but it gets the job done.

The body kit consists of clear coated carbon fiber pieces with a matte or shiny finish. At the front, Brabus can add a custom spoiler for the standard bumper and also carbon surrounds for the air intakes.

There's pretty much the same story going on at the rear where the car gets a new carbon-fiber spoiler and an air diffuser. The body kit was developed in the wind tunnel and its obvious declared purpose is to reduce aerodynamic lift

No big surprises in the wheels department where Brabus usually uses their own designs, and so is the case here: the C63 S has 20-inch Brabus monoblock alloys with carbon-fiber inlays on each spoke. They come wrapped in Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama tires, depending on the customer's wishes, sized 255/30 R20 at the front and 275/30 R20 at the rear.

The interior wasn't overlooked either with a vast range of materials on offer. The showcase vehicle which will be taken over to Frankfurt features a fine black leather interior with contrasting bright orange seams and accents. Not really our cup of tea (it makes the car look like a pair of cheap running shoes), but we could live with it on a Brabus.
