You can't tell how a car handles by the way it looks, especially if it's a Mercedes-Benz. Even though the S-Class Coupe looks like a large sportscar, it handles in such a way as to appeal to 60-year old businessmen, soft and steady. That's why we'd love to see Affalterbach going crazy with a Black Series version of the S63 AMG.
That will never happen, but the in-house tuners at Brabus have done a wonderful job extracting more power from the twin-turbo V8. Many companies know how to increase the pressure of the exhaust gasses and spray extra fuel through the nozzles. But Brabus changes every major component of the 5.5-liter to the point where you can't even recognize it.
The block now displaces closer to 6 liters (5,912cc to be precise). Bigger turbo are installed, as well as intercoolers and carbon fiber air intakes. Gold plating can be seen under the bonnet, not only because it looks cool, but also because it's the best heat conductor in the world.
As for output, this is increased to 850 PS, as the name suggests. The torque boasts the most impressive figure, as 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) escape from under the bonnet to all four wheels of the S63 AMG.
This particular S63 AMG Coupe by Brabus has been painted in gloss black. The German tuner's styling kit adds a front spoiler that's larger and more imposing while replacing the Mercedes grille with a Brabus "B" one. Down the side, we notice discrete blades inserts for the skirts that are painted in silver, plus carbon mirror caps. Finally, they included a set of rear air ducts, a diffuser, and some rather large exhaust pieces.
The interior is pretty much the stock one that Mercedes wanted. However, Brabus have installed their illuminated door sills and a new set of aluminum pedals.
