Brabus is in the business of making outrageously powerful and incredibly fast Mercedes-Benz cars. After they are done with them, though, the three-pointed star badges are all but gone and unless you knew a thing or two about cars, you could have a tough time realizing what they used as a starting point.
Even though we’re used to them working their magic on sedans and coupes, that doesn’t mean that SUVs are out of their league. As a matter of fact, they do take stabs at these more practical rides on the regular and their latest creation is this, the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Widestar.
As you can probably imagine, this creation is based on the G63 AMG model but everything was turned up to 11. There’s a whole new body kit included that has all the aero parts you need on.
That includes a new front bumper, wider fender flares and a hood with an air scoop included in it. You might also notice the 23-inch forged wheels as well as the interior changes if you dare to step inside.
That’s where you’ll be greeted by Mastik leather seats, a new multimedia console with retractable tray tables for the rear occupants, a complementary 15.6-inch screen attached to the headliner and other multimedia improvements such as USB ports and even a refrigerator.
Alcantara now covers the headliner, and you also get some of the finest velour floor mats you can think of while aluminum pedals and illuminated sill plates make you feel ‘special’.
As the name suggests, this beast has 850 HP at its disposal and no less than 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) of torque coming in from under the bonnet. The name of this beast is also revealing another interesting fact about it: its engine size.
In standard guise, the G63 AMG has a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet. Well, this one has been bored and stroked to 5.9-liters which, along with all the other add-ons that increase power by a considerable amount, allows the car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in four seconds flat.
The best bit of news about it, though? It’s coming to Frankfurt!
