Bosch is one of the most important suppliers of various parts, accessories and technology solutions to a lot of the world’s major car manufacturers. That makes it a very serious company, with serious investments and equally serious revenues.
But even the dead serious (excuse the pun) can loosen up a little every now and then, and come up with a clip that’s both funny and touching. But mostly funny.
Bosch has launched a marketing campaign for its ICON™ wiper blades together with the Humane Society of the United States, telling people that a clear view through their windscreen could save the lives of wild animals. Considering how Bosch is also doing lighting equipment for cars, they could add that proper illumination of the road ahead has the same benefits.
We have no idea what’s your view on the German company right now, but we’re willing to bet it will be significantly changed after you press the play button on the video below. After all, when was the last time a zombie bunny asked you to think what a “dead mother trucker” skunk would smell like? Before being blown away by a green cloud of... well, you know, skunk odor.
With the inevitable influences from Michael Jackson’s famous Thriller video clip, the short musical featuring Frank the squirrel, Buck the deer, Rich the rabbit, Streetz the skunk and Francesca the fox is a two-minute long marathon of giggles and the occasional laughing out loud.
However, the message it sends out is a very serious one, and the fact that it has backing from The Humane Society of the United States and its own website is proof of that. They say that every week millions of wild animals are being killed on American roads, and that number has no other way to go but up now that the car market is seeing better days.
The fact that this clip is actually a commercial can be easily overlooked. Sorry, Bosch, but that’s the risk you gotta take when you come up with something this good. But if buying Bosch’s ICON™ wipers will keep from crushing Frank the squirrel’s nuts, then you can count on my money.
