Known for his versatility, speed and technique, Marco Reus plays primarily as a left attacker, even though he is capable of playing on the right also and the middle. One thing he can’t do, however, and that is driving with a permit, since he has none.
You might never heard about the fellow, but you should know the 25-year old soccer star is quite famous around Europe. Either way, we’re sure he’ll stand as a record-keeper from now on since the EUR540,000 ($664,000) fine he got is reportedly the biggest the German police has ever written.
Now, Borrusia Dortmund’s star is usually driving an Aston Martin Vanquish, but we’re not quite sure if he was at the wheel of this car when police stopped him. According to German newspaper Bild, Reus was pulled over several times before and even received speeding tickets on at least five occasions since 2011, but authorities have never realized the soccer player was never actually a legal driver. Until recently, anyway.
“I decided back then to take that road but the reasons I did it are something I cannot really understand today”, Reus told the source. It would seem everything started years ago, when police pulled him over but never asked for his driver's license since they recognized him. It was only recently authorities have looked deeper and found out about his driving records.
The huge fine is allegedly relating to all the incidents from 2011 until this March, but we’re pretty sure it won’t be such a big problem for Reus to cover it since rumors are he’s making EUR 65,000 ($80,000) a week.
