After several lawsuits in all of which Salman Khan pleaded not guilty, the famous Indian actor has been charged today with culpable homicide in a case that started in 2003. The Bombay Sessions Court concluded that the actor was driving under the influence and sentenced him to five years in prison.
13 years ago Salman Khan, the famous Indian film actor and producer, was arrested for rash and negligent driving. The car he was driving ran into a bakery in Mumbai. Unfortunately, one homeless person was sleeping on the pavement outside and was fatally hit by the vehicle at the moment of impact.

We’re not sure how big of an Indian movies fan you are, but we’re quite certain you’ve heard about their impressive entertainment industry. Best known as Bollywood, the Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai is one of the largest producers in India and one of the most important centers of such in the world. Now, think of Salman Khan as one of the most iconic actors there, a real hero of the nation.

In fact, the 49-year-old actor was shooting a new movie when he left the set to attend the court hearing earlier the day. The verdict apparently was unexpected and a big hit for the legions of fans waiting for a decision. Khan's arrest is not only a big hit to his followers, but also for the movie industry.

Even though the Indian celebrity always said it was not him holding the steering wheel at the moment of impact, the Court concluded he was driving the car under the influence of alcohol. This caused the death of one and severe injury to four other homeless persons.
