BMW’s New Commercials for the 3 Series Facelift Are Downright Funny

BMW didn’t waste time starting to promote its new 3 Series facelift model, and as soon as it reached US dealerships, the car started to be marketed on TV. The first steps in this regard are the commercials that will be launched across the nation.
As expected, the new ads are split into two big categories. The first one is represented by that serious side of the Germans. They are known to be stout and proud people that take laughing seriously. Therefore, there’s one kind of commercial that is just talking about the performance of the new cars and how drastically they have been improved. And then comes the funny stuff.

Lately, we’ve been getting used to this kind of TV spots, ever since the day when the hip granny complained about the leather used for the seats inside the BMW X5. This time, though, it’s pretty obvious that the ads aim at a different demographic altogether.

That said, one of the commercials focuses on how useful run flat tires are in real life. This is not a new feature for the 3 Series, since run flats have become the standard a while back, but for some reason, the Germans decided to focus on them for a change. Maybe this is their way of saying “Sorry” and offer an explanation as to why they fit almost all of their current cars with such rubber.

The second ad focuses on the competition, and as it sort of became the norm, the Bavarians are sending subtle arrows in the direction of their rivals. Are they better? Probably not, especially since they are still copying what BMW is bringing to the table. At least that’s what the ad says, not us.

In the last one, and probably the funniest of them all, we have the features of the iDrive system in the limelight. One curious girlfriend wants to know if the man she’s dating has her on speed dial. We’ll let you see for yourself what happens.
