Since we’re getting closer and closer to the unveiling of the highly-anticipated i8, it’s only normal to get into more and more specific details like, for example, the target demographic.

According to German publication automobilswoche.de the i8 will be targeting customers aged over 35, mostly men that are tech-savvy that are not only looking for the ultimate driving experience but are also worried about driving responsibly.

As for the markets where BMW expects the new sports car to be most popular, the USA, Germany, France and the UK stand at the top, even though the Bavarian machine will be sold in over 50 countries worldwide.

Furthermore, just like its smaller brother, the i3, the i8 will also be sold over the internet, where the logistics allow it. However, at the moment, we’re not sure if the i8 will benefit from the 360 Degree Electric program that allows i3 owners to borrow a conventional car for longer trips.

Expect the i8 to be fully unveiled later this year, at the Frankfurt Motor Show and go on sale next year in dealerships around the world.
