BMW Z5 Concept, Turkish Design Study

In recent years, the design language of German manufacturer BMW has somewhat changed. Even if, overall, the brand's image is, for now, pretty much consistent with its past, it's likely the future, electric cars and the new design lines which started with the Vision EfficientDynamics, will change that.

This shift in design already caught the attention of more or less talented individuals who, using computer design tools to give life to their ideas, already envisioned a different future for the cars wearing the white-and-blue badge. And here's a new one, the BMW Z5.

Created as a competitor in a segment where BMW is not present (where big names like Porsche 911, Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo play everyday), this design study is the work of a Turkish studio called Nobile-OT.

The Z5 is a mid-mounted V8-powered super car based on the Z4 but, of course, details about performance are absent. Visually, the model takes inspiration from both past (like the 8 Series) and future models (like the aforementioned Vision EfficientDynamics).

“We would like to create a supercar for BMW,”
say the designers from Nobile-OT, in their near-English. “It's such a car that completes BMW's an empty segment, it's a supercar. Planned to be a new challenger to Porsche 911, Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo. It was a long time after 8 series BMW never made a car on this segment.”

According to the people working on the project, what you see in the photos here is the result of six months' work, but not quite the final product. The creators of the Z5 supercar plan to tweak the design some more, with the result to be presented soon.
